Judy Newberry is the Supervising Partner for the Regulatory Compliance group. Judy has 30+ years of legal experience in finance, banking, and technology. She counsels clients in the non-banking lending and payment services industries, including online consumer lenders, money transmitters, and bill pay companies. She specializes in advising early-stage innovative lenders on licensing and compliance issues. Specifically, she advises start-ups on long term growth by focusing on business realities while reducing the likelihood of regulatory hurdles and compliance pitfalls. Clients range from private investment, middle-market companies with regional footprints to venture capital backed global APIs. The firm provides audit services that identify operational, compliance, IT, and data privacy risks and provides remediation guidance. Judy advises mortgage companies and banks on onboarding service providers and developing affiliate relationships.
