Morgan Clemons serves as subject matter expert for State Regulatory Registry to create, review and update mortgage loan originator test questions and test content outline

Aldridge Pite associate Morgan Clemons attended the Conference of State Bank Supervisors 2019 Test Maintenance program in Washington, D.C.  The in-person activities bring together subject matter experts from around the country, including regulators and industry participants, to assist with maintenance of the National SAFE MLO Test. The test is required for mortgage professionals working to obtain mortgage loan originator licenses.  In 2018, the Conference of State Bank Supervisors announced that “a license applicant who now passes the National SAFE MLO Test with Uniform State Content (National Test) will not need to take any additional state-specific tests to hold a license.”
Ms. Clemons advises mortgage companies, including lenders, brokers, and servicers, on regulatory compliance matters. Regulatory Compliance is an essential component of a successful mortgage company or bank. Aldridge Pite offers in-house training based on client needs and advises clients on preventative and ongoing compliance matters. Prior to representing financial institutions in private practice, Ms. Clemons worked for a state regulatory agency as an enforcement attorney.  Her duties included serving as the attorney representing the state banking department in hearings denying or revoking lender and mortgage loan originator licenses.  She is an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law. Ms. Clemons is a graduate of Duke University School of Law.
