Morgan Clemons presents Fintech, the Changing Client Base, & the New Order in the Financial Services Industry at the State Bar of Georgia Real Estate Section Foreclosure Seminar

Aldridge Pite associate Morgan Clemons presented: Fintech, the Changing Client Base & the New Order in the Financial Services Industry at the State Bar of Georgia Real Estate Section Foreclosure Seminar on November 7, 2018 in Atlanta.  The presentation discussed the shift in the make up of the residential mortgage market post financial crisis and the potential impact of fintech companies to the industry as technology and data continue to increase in importance.  The presentation addressed whether banks and nonbank servicers should have concern about fintech companies engaging in servicing and included a discussion of efficient loss mitigation, reduction in the “human component,” and the extent to which fintech companies are (or are not) regulated.
Ms. Clemons advises banks, mortgage companies, consumer lenders, fintech start-ups, bill pay, and international money transmitters on compliance matters. Prior to representing financial institutions in private practice, Ms. Clemons worked as a nondepository financial institutions enforcement attorney for a state banking department.  She is an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law. Ms. Clemons is a graduate of Duke University School of Law.
